Also Wa styled as that looks more like a Western type handle

Top one is Bog Oak with blue spacer, middle is Black Micarta ferrule and Olivewood and the bottom is Black Micarta and Cherry. The Micarta and Cherry I think looks pretty nice! Mahogany has a more open grain, I prefer more closed grain woods.

how does the M3 mokume compare to natural woods?
Fri Jun 07, 2013 11:08 am
The M3 is a solid material. It is made by atomizing metal into small molecules and then using a chemical binder. The weight varies depending on the metals used (lava is one of the lighter, the Classic Mokume and Stainless Damascus are among the heavier ones I have used). It is completely stable and takes a very nice polish to it. Most of the M3 stuff is heavier than a similar sized piece of stabilized wood. I have the black and white Mokume and B&W Lava here actually, I will get pics tomorrow. The white doesn't get dirty that I have seen; my AS Laser shows no discoloration or dirt or anything.

I like that Olivewood handle. I love the detail that the contrast of really light to really dark colors add. The Cherry is nice but much more bland to me.

Yeah, the Olivewood is nice and has a nice contrast to it, more than Marble wood does and has a smoother texture. The Cherry is nice for those who want something different, but a more subdued looking wood.
