Konosuke's knives are much more highly finished with nice handles, rounded spines and choils. The handles on most of Murray's knives are kind of cheap but his grinds and heat treat are top shelf, so while both of them perform well Konosuke knives feel like an expensive knife in your hand.

Balance is something I don't give a lot of thought to in most knives. Most wa handled knives are blade heavy since the handles are light and the tangs are small. I find I get used to the balance on most knives as I use them. The one exception is a knife that is handle heavy like the henckles 4 star 2. Knives with more weight in the handle makes you lose the feel of the blade. There are very few knives that are like this.

Takeda gyutos are tall and hard and thin and light. It's a great package in a knife and I like them a lot. I don't think you would go wrong with a Takeda or a Kono.
