I saw the EP blank with a short piece of horse on it. It is a good price and I know it's appreciated for one to "try". Just in case anyone hasn't thought of it I did something a while back. I had two 5" Spyderco ceramic stones and the 4.25" DMT stones. I cut blanks to fit them and glued them to the stones. Then I used additional copper tubing (the one the spring replaces) so the rear holder would grab the shorter blanks. Using the DMT stones is strange because they are shorter but they do work and work pretty well.

I had already mounted the DMT stones on a standard length blank and hated it because the stone would drop off the end or you could hit the edge with the end of the stone if it weren't close enough to the front stone holder. The picture of the horse on the blank has extra space at each end of the horse hide.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was interested.
