I posted the first pic of these as a teaser in the 240mm Artifex thread, but I will continue them here! These are 3 blanks I had Randy Haas from HHH Custom Knives build up for me. The steel is 1095 Carbon Steel and they have been fully hardened to around 60 rockwell. I had originally ordered these blanks to fill my 210mm gyuto spot and another Nakiri, but other knives in the meantime had taken those spaces in my block.

The blanks. K tip gyuto, gyuto and a wide, 7" long blade Nakiri. The Nakiri is crazy thin and will cut like crazy!! The K tip is nice and thin and the other regular tip gyuto is a bit thicker, but with more convexity to the sides.

Handle close ups:

Fresh out of the masking tape! Handles just need a coat or two of finish and I then need to put the final edge on these. The pics are from just after I rounded out the spines and the masking tape residue hasn't been cleaned off yet. The regular tip 210mm gyuto has Stabilized and Dyed Blue Box Elder Burl, the 210mm K tip gyuto has Stabilized Spalted Sycamore Burl and the Nakiri has Stabilized Flamed Redwood Burl handles:

Love that sycamore........I have a piece or two that I got for some handles, if I can ever get away from the lathe long enough to make them.

Pretty stuff.
