I found the company that makes clad steels in Japan and they're interested in doing business with me. They can do lots of combinations including all the Hitachi steels. Soooo,
I'm thinking this would be a big seller if I could pull it off. Any thoughts? I'm thinking I could make these for about $20 more than the current Artifex prices.

There's lots of other core steels I could use such as ZDP189.

YES, YES, YES!!! I love AS clad in Stainless! Love to see a whole line up in this steel: 240mm Gyuto, 150mm Petty, 180 or 210mm Nakiri, 300mm Suji!

Wow! An Aogami hagane would rock, but I'd also love to see a rationally priced knife in ZDP!

Agreed I would for sure grab up one of these if the core steel was something like zdp-189, M4, etc.

this sounds pretty cool. if the spine is a little thicker because its clad, that would be a good thing too. and taz would have to do custom handles for these also!

...I reckon we need to focus on some K390 as core steel......

PS: It is deemed to be a whole heap better than M390.....

.....cat amongst the pigeons......
