So this is my first attempt at making handles for Spyderco Mules. This particular mule is the k390 steel mule.

The handle is a resin impregnated and dyed stabilized pine cone. What attracted me to this handle was the curvature of the core of the pine cone - It followed the curvature of the Spyderco handle.

I really like the overall look of it, but my eye keeps going to all the minor flaws in my technique. I'll get better. A special thanks to the the Bark River 'gang' who have taught me what little I know about handle making.

The knife still has the factory edge in it.

The stone is a Monzen Aoto a muddy middle grit stone that's a whole lot of fun to use.

Here's a closeup of the 'spine' or core of the pinecone. The seeds look like embedded gems Totally unexpected!

Picture formatting is difficult to view, but it does look unique... :)

I like it! Very original. I am by no means an EDC guy,but I'd definitely carry that everywhere!! Except maybe the airport...
