Tim and I are talking about an Artifex custom handle on a knife that he's converting to a wa gyuto.

Tell me what you would prefer seeing:

Victoon, I am trying out a conversion to see how it looks/feels when it's finished. I may work on it tomorrow, or I may go nuts with the belt sander and work on 13 other handles :) I don't see why a conversion wouldn't work; the tang seems stiff enough at the size that it is; it's around 3" long for the tang to machi. The tangs are fully hardened, where on many Japanese Wa tangs, they are a softer steel and flex more.

Hi Tim, I have seen your blog and your work is just amazing. But at this point of my life I just can't afford a conversion. but, a man can dream...one day...

I'm toying with an Artifex Wa. The handle is more expensive for us and I would really, really like to source this in the USA for this knife. That's the main problem I'm facing right now.

Mark, do you want me to make up an Orange Creamsicle Camo piece for the last Western Style Artifex handle?

Sure! I like variety. I've very interested in how the wa handled version comes out.
