I still would love to have one but no where near that price point.

Pretty much this.

Hey guys, I need a BIG slow cooker or similar. I figure at least 3x the capacity of the 6 qt one I have. Checking on other forums etc. it seems the conventional, home-sized cooker max out at maybe 8-10 quarts. Some people suggested an electric roaster oven, but checking reviews on Amazon etc. every device I looked at had issues with temperature control, flimsy build, etc. Budget is $300 or so. Any suggestions?

Thanks, that looks about perfect, if a bit pricey.

EDIT:

"This equipment is intended for commercial use only. Warranty is void if equipment is installed in other than commercial applications."

"Not for residential use. Shipped to commercial addresses only."

Why do you need such a big slow cooker? I mean your oven can cook low and you can setup your bbq grill to do low and slow as well.

I've cooked plenty of stuff in various ovens at 200-225 for 10-15 hours.

No oven, no grill, and no interest in purchasing either.

I want a big slow cooker-type device to make great quantities of soups and stews.

Home use what you want doesn't exist. You might find something at commercial/industrial level but I would contact your local restaurant supply store and ask them.

I'm not sure why you would need a slow cooker to make "great quantities of soups and stews". Its a lot easier to buy a 30qt steel pot for 60 bucks and just make it on your stove.
