It's gonna get a workout tomorrow at the game dinner slicing down several roasts!

I just got mine today. Here is a picture of the entire knife:

Here is a picture of the custom handle I had made for it.
What is really neat about the handle is how it reflects light. I looks different from every angle.
I am anxious to see what it looks like under natural light.

Mine measures 41MM tall at the heel. As soon as I saw it I realized it can do more than just be a slicer.
So Taz hit it right out of the park.

Hey Taz, how did the Suji do on those roasts last Sunday?

The edge looks pretty good OOTB, I am interested to know if you put it on the stones before use.

It did awesome! I did a post in the What's Cooking forum: game-dinner-2-t5643.html

The strong convexing really helps food fall away from the blade as you slice and it sliced very cleanly with nice and thin slices. Really worked very well!

I acid etched it, so I touched it back up before using, IIRC I used the Rika 5K, and a Hakka Level 3 Japanese Natural that refines the edge but leaves some tooth for a slicer, strop on bare leather after the Hakka.

I love my 300mm Kono white#2 suji but I have to say that Richmond 270 looks sweet! Wish I had a reason to pick one up without my wife stabbing me in the night with it!

I didn't realize this was such a new knife. I ordered one over the weekend and am looking forward to using it. Can someone refresh my memory, is it known who makes this knife for cktg? I recall some earlier mention of Konosuke Richmonds, but nothing recent.

It's not know who is making the AS series for CKTG...yet! Mark is going to Japan this week and we may get some clues :)

Glad I got my order in before the big reveal (potentially). :) I'm really looking forward to using this bad boy. It is my first suji and it seems to fit perfectly for what I'm looking for in this particular use case.
