Thanks Pete!

Let me know if you folks like the cutting board/profile demo I started including w/most of the knives in this round. If you find it helpful, I'll keep doing it.

I only saw one video with the profile addition so far. THANK YOU!! This is PRECISELY what I thought had been missing in previous videos of all types, and it gives much better sense of the profile than merely rocking the knife on a board from above or showing the edge. Great addition!!

Steve: I watched another video and in confirmed an idea/suggestion: if you have a board that you dedicate to these videos, at least for the couple of hours you devote to filming, I would recommend the following: If you tape some stiff/folded paper or a piece of white plastic on the board itself, to serve as a backdrop on the board rather depending on the paper description, you'll get a much more consistent and clear portrayal of the actual edge of the knife—this is particularly true when not rocking the blade. As you probably noticed, since you're holding the angle of the board by hand, we (the viewer) go in and out of seeing the board as the backdrop (not helpful) and the paper as the backdrop (helpful, because then we see the space between the wood and the knife as cream/white). Having a backdrop on the board immediately behind the knife would eliminate this problem, as the viewing angle would no longer determine whether we saw the board or the paper behind the knife edge in the trailing horizon!

I'm so excited about this new feature—I hope my suggestion might make your job a little easier by requiring you to balance one less thing while rocking a sharp blade, holding a heavy board on edge, talking, and taping at the same time. (Just don't chew any gum, right?) Ha!

I also wanted to add that I loved the "round up"—addressed lots of good issues about general fit and finish and grind from knife to knife that is often missing from the website regarding such makers...and is often a source of anxiety when you see only one review or video of one knife from a line that has some er...unique...qualities. This is particularly true here, where I was thinking the edge and style of the KS was probably identical to other knives, when it is clearly not. Nicely done, and nice addition for this line in particular!

Thanks guys for the feedback.

Joe, I've actually thought about doing that very thing you suggested. I could see the high contrast back drop wasn't consistent with the board moving around. It's a board I'll dedicate to this, and it's fairly light. Great suggestion! Look for this on the next round.
