Thanks Melampus. i took some shortcuts working with silicon carbide stone, sandpaper. and then jumping to 1k. 6k. and rouge. i dont have many stones.

But yes it´s motivating. and when i tried to do the same with an unknown line 24 chef knife, those with the white plastic handle, dont know if it was cutco, tramontina. without being able to get it sharp. i regained some love for VG10.

today i had a lot of time. i gave a second try to my friends cheap knife and im happy with the results, i´ll leave it at 1k. I rescued a tanaka yanagiba that developed some rust spots, i gave a patina to the urasuki and the bevel. looks weird. but better.

i´m starting to think i need a green brick. Thank you guys for the motivation!
