I got some handle-less Addict 2s to sharpen and make sheaths for, and one piece of poplar I was working with had really purple looking mineral stain. I had some purpleheart slabs laying around, so I put two and two together.

The handles are Cocobolo and Purpleheart with Hard Maple spacers. The sheaths are both Poplar.

What do you guys think?

Gorgeous, I like the simple elegance of them. Nothing is really fancy about them but the are really clean!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for. Sometimes, less is more.

I'm a KISS kinda guy, and these handles ride that line of simple... ride it over to simply sophisticated! ;)

AWESOME!

I am totally sold on cocobolo. I saw it on a DT, and immediately fell in love. I feel like such a bitch givin a shiite about aesthetics, but that coco is hot... no bones about it!

The maple spacer on the coco is perfect... for me. On the purpleheart, its too stark a constrast... for me, but still hot nonetheless.

The sayas are awesome, to me, because they look like they fit well. I HATE, DESPISE, DETEST the slop in 2 of my currents... I like it when you dont need a pin because the saya fits like a glove.

Looks good, just wondering why so few people taper the Wa handle - it really sits well in the hand using a pinch grip.....

:)

Melampus,
Glad you like them, and yes they fit snug. The Purpleheart/Maple combo is a little drastic, but it matches the sheath, and Purpleheart will stick out anywhere. It is INSANELY hard though, harder than the Cocobolo.

Rookie,
They are tapered, I'm just a bad photographer.
