I really like the idea of the large choil. It makes sense as a hunting knife to me and is really unique. I would agree about not using it as a skinner. As a hunting/camping knife I think it would be a beast.

Thank you. These are a lot of fun to make and the new heat treat oven is doing great. Going to order something a little more exotic next week.... maybe Elmax, maybe more S35.... Depends on what stock is available. There are a few more 1095 blades about to be complete and 52100 chef knives will be started in about a week as well.

Not sure how I feel about the large finger choil. Might just have to pick up one to find out ;)

A video cutting rope, creating feather sticks, batoning wood, etc. would be cool! We miss your video banter :)

I'd like to see the edges of the butt of that handle eased just a little, but who am I! ;)
Oh! And I'm going to need a sheath for mine!

:) Thanks, this piece of wood got away from me a little bit while flattening so there that little nick near the heel. I didn't have enough material to get rid of it, so maybe I should fill it with epoxy before it goes out.

Jeff, I think easing the butt would make it a little bit stronger and resistant to impact more. Maybe I can do that for yours. :)

Been working on other stuff today, just getting around to the forum now. Things are shaping up!
