Ouch, I really feel for you. I don't leave my nicer knives out for this very reason.

It's uses like lobster tails that keep (and will keep) a German style chef knife in my kit.

Ouch!!!!

Am I reading this right? Your boss took a knife worth several hundred dollars from you without letting you know what he was going to use it for, destroyed the edge and did not immediately offer to fix or replace it. That takes gall.

I most definitely would have a serious problem with his actions and I feel for your predicament. This is your boss so you can't respond in an appropriate manner without risking your situation.

Hope he does right by you.

Good luck

Mike

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I've spoken with him and he told me to send him the bill. I should have stated that earlier, didn't mean to get everyone riled up. But trust me, my heart dropped when i saw the blade after he used it. I didn't just spend all this money on this beautiful knife to be used incorrectly by SOMEONE ELSE. Trust me, I'm pissed, but as long as he pays for it and its fixable I'm going to remain cool. Ken123 or Melampus, do either of you repair/sharpen others knives? And if so, could you please PM me a price quote. Thanks!

Matt

Agreed. If any idiot is going to mess up my knives, I'm going to be that idiot.

MATT <> He better pay.

We have a subforum here <--link full of sharpeners. Ken123 is highly respected, and he's always a trip to talk to... as long as you have the time. ;) Talk to him, or one of the other guys as they feed their kids by sharpening knives. If you can't come to terms w/anyone, then I will gladly repair your Suisin.
