HACK <> Corks work, cloth works, your finger works, brushes work... it's a cleaner.. apply, massage, rinse. Easy peasy. Just like the slurry of a stone like DESOL adds.
I use a non-scratch scotchbrite backed sponge. Powder on, scrub-a-dub-dub, rinse, dry. I typically wash my knife thoroughly first, dry, inspect, then clean further if required. In this example, remove patina (of which I NEVER remove).
