I am debating between these two
http://www.chefknivestogo.com/gohada24gy.html
http://www.chefknivestogo.com/goko.html

How would you compare the two?
Is there any advantage of the hammered? They are the same steel according to the description.

In terms of the color. The hammered version seems to be a stainless silver color? But on the forum the photos I see have it as a darker color like the non hammered.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

This is an easy one. We're out of the hammered ones and we're not getting anymore as far as I know.

We still have about 24 left of the regular damascus ones and that will be it for them.

The Chestnut handles look decent enough in a picture but the are very cheap and cheezy in person, and don't get me started on that plastic ferrule!

HATERADE!!!!!!! I agree about the ferrule though, garbage. I wish that there was an economy alternative to plastic just so knife manufacturers would quit installing the absolute junk that the plastic ones are. I think paper or cardboard would be nicer HA!

I just finished a handle swap on the Goko White #1 240 Gyuto. Pulled the handle off this knife: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/tskakugy21.html - Rosewood/Ebony and installed it on the Goko - me like! It looks better and feels better. I take a couple of after photos and post the new look.

I actually liked the feel of the Chestnut, but a wooden ferrule would make SOOO much difference and turn it into a nicer handle.
