You know..... Just stop at the tip........is what she said...........

Practice, practice, practice. I still occasionally scrape the blade on the stone doing tip work. But over the past month or two, it hasn't happened. I actually got the chance to practice a good deal when I dinged my Goko W#1 and had to put the needle tip back on it.
