SteveG wrote:@Nola - no it's just the natural line where the cladding gives way to exposing the core steel. This is based on the grind of the knife near the edge. The Shinogi line is usually marked as the delineation where the flatter blade face gives way to the primary bevel grind which then goes down to the edge. This primary bevel is sometime referred to as the blade road. It's really easy to see on Kurouchi knives and on single bevel knives. Shinogi is traditionally a single bevel knife term, but many also apply it to double bevel knives as I stated above.

Thank you for clearing it up Steve. I knew that was where the cladding ended, just thought there was a term for it. It really is a great looking knife.

Good looking knife! Looks similar in appearance to another great performing 210 gyuto the Takamura 210.

I just saw them. I have been wanting a nice Nakiri for a while. So I just ordered one.
Even though it's a western handle, the mahogany is beautiful, and I have to see what this HAP40 steel is all about.
I am very happy with my 210MM Laser, so I will leave the Gyuto alone and let other members grab them up.

I just ordered the Gyuto, can't wait to check out what this steel is all about! I generally don't go for western handles, but the mahogany with the stainless steel bolster does look sharp.
