Hi Mark,

The Doi Kiritsuke is amazing! Literally like a big razor with a handle.

Any idea what the inscription on the blade says in English?

What do you recommend to care for the Saya? It’s unfinished wood, and I live in a very dry climate. I would wonder if it might shrink or crack from the low humidity.

Also, is there a saya available for my Kajihara Kurouchi Kobocho?

Best Regards,

Jason

Usually you don't need to worry about the sayas. If you want, you can put a little mineral oil on it and rub it in.

You can place an order for the closest match for a kaji saya and give us a note in the comments box and we'll try and match one to your knife.

Jason, I live in a dry climate as well and I have never had issues with these types of unfinished sayas cracking. I would not worry too much about it.

Thanks very much for the replies. I think I won't worry about it then. I try to keep the humidity in the house between 35% and 50%.
