Thanks all - I appreciate your taking the time to share of your expertise - always nice to be welcomed to a friendly and knowledgeable board. Who knew I would be starting the great bread knife controversy - I missed Mark's sale so will wait for him to refill.

A year ago I sliced bread with whatever knife was closest.

Now I have opinions and preferences about bread knives. Bread knives of all things!

It really is a sickness.

Haha. The great thing about this forum is that people are very respectful of one another. Differences of opinion are handled with open minds and positivity. Frankly, a change from other forums I have visited. Great to see.

Haha, bread knife controversy. I am tempted to pick up the Artifex now though! One can never have too many knives!

I agree that the Tojiro ITK will not wow anyone. It's got nice white #2 steel at a very low price. If you're happy with that combination, go for it. There's a lot of room to move up with more refined knives of this sort.
