Hi....great videos!....you've got me interested in waterstones. Currently I'm using DMT bench stones and get good results. However, I really like the contact and esthetics of the waterstones. I've got a lot of fixed blade hunting, bushcraft, Randall's....etc along with 15 or so folders.
For now, I'd like your feedback on using the 800 Bamboo. I like the size and would like to use it on some premium hatchets and small forest axes I've collected.
Maybe followed by a 4000. Your thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated. thanks!
..Mike

The 1k flavors of Nubatama stones are a better choice. The 800 is IMO slower than the 1k stones and better suited to single bevel knives.

Try this Nubatama 1K stone Mike. I like it a little better than the 800: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/nuba10lasi.html

There are a lot of options for a finishing stones. I really like the Arashiyama: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/takenoko8000.html

That would make an excellent 2pc set for you with some interesting stones.

I'll have to second that, one of my favorites so far.
