These are Suji's! At the heel, they are 2.67mm wide and 40mm tall. They have a beefier grind than the AS Laser Gyuto's and it's a stiff suji, not a flexy one, which is exactly what I was looking for! I have a Kono White #2 300mm and a Artifex 270mm suji and both are flexy and I was looking for a stiff suji. Kanji are nicely done and the grind is good a convex, so meats slices should fall away from the blade nicely! I stuck a take off handle on it for now until I decide what I want to use for the real handle.

Here is is with my Tanaka R2 240mm gyuto:

No prob!! I've been eyeing the Masakage Mizu for a stiffer suji, but this one will be awesome!

Many thanks for posting the good quality pictures Taz
I just bought one myself, sans handle, so I am waiting to see what kind of handle I want on it.

Thanks Tim,

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the handle.

Umm... not exactly. They shipped to CTKG without handles and are currently in the process of having semi custom handles put on by Isaiah. The above picture is of a blade purchased without a handle. Note how Taz explains the handle is a take-off from a different knife and placed on the tang for the photo. If you would like one without a handle click here ---> http://www.chefknivestogo.com/laser270.html

The ones with handles should be available shortly... stay tuned :)
