Pete that is exactly what has been becoming more clear in the last six months.

Sometimes you need to turn these things into your advantage.

I have been looking at cutting boards for a month. Trying to find an excuse to blow $300 on an end grain cutting board. I did not even have the guts to bring it up due to cost.

As luck would have it. My wife put her prized multi-color/kitchen counter show piece bambo cutting board in dishwasher yesterday on heated drying. The glue came out of cutting board.

Guess what she is getting for anniversary.
End grain 20 by 20 by 3 inch cutting board.

Buy yourself new steak knives make her use the old ones.

Sorry guys, I've been busy but I find some of the responses to be way too serious. It was meant to be a light hearted post not something to tell me to check my morality.

Yes, we are still together ! LOL

She can cook, but she just needed a brief rundown of how to use the knives and pans.

The first gift I ever got my GF was a proper chef's knife, so I could cook at her place. She promptly cut herself the first time she used it. But those were the days when she thought that cooking duties were to be evenly divided, for the sake of fairness. We quickly came to the realization that she didn't like to cook, and I didn't like to clean. We've been very happy in the 13 years since then, and that knife is what we use when we go on vacation. I cook, she cleans, and we each think we got the better part of the deal.

Was it Rodney Dangerfield who said that he told his wife that he'd bring her places she's never been and brought her into he kitchen?

It was Dangerfield who said: "This f-ing food here, you pray 'after' you eat!"

My Fiance gets pissed off at me all the time in the kitchen, she just doesn't understand. But I understand why she doesn't get it. I gave her my old twin signature a few years ago because there were no usable knives in her house, haha. So I guess it was more of a gift to me!

I laughed out loud @ Jeff B's first reply.
I hear Chefknivestogo's post also. Keep quiet and fly under the radar. Some fights aren't worth picking.

This is a pretty serious offense. I winced as I imagined the knife and the pan being desecrated. Where is the common sense? I'm glad you can have an open conversation with her about it!

My bf has hinted at wanting a new cutting board for a few weeks. Should I make his day and make the current one disappear? :P

This never really got serious at all, mildly harsh maybe. You don't want to be around when it gets serious.

My girl is afraid of my knives...I call sharpening meditation and she just sees me hunched over with the stones with a serious grin.

She also calls food my mistress.

Cant blame her. Were all lucky that women think men who cook (dosent even have to be good) are sexy
