So I had a huge craving for some cookies. I decided to whip up a batch.

I don't trust my oven so I set it to 350 and put in my thermometer once the heat regulated. After 6 minutes of baking it turned out that the oven jumped to 450 and the bottoms are now slightly burnt.

I mean if you're going to be off at least be consistently off.

I hate electric ranges with my life and I will only ever move into a house with gas.

Anyone else get this BS from time to time?

I hate electric stoves/ovens in general. I generally don't have oven problems, but find it difficult to regulate the heat on the stove elements--too much time delay and hysteresis in the controls without the visual feedback to compensate.

I totally agree with estayton. Once they get hot they take forever to cool down. I almost have to change burners when I want to reduce to a simmer. My favorite is the french flattop we have at work. Works so well once you figure it out.

Brand new LG oven. Off by 25. So…out of curiosity, why cant the oven come with a thermometer to regulate itself?

Never had a problem with electric ovens, but I detest electric stovetops so much.
And then there are people who ask me if they should buy an electric wok. First, time I heard it, I couldn't even fathom how bad they must operate.

Electric ovens are ok, but the one I have now won't fit a holiday turkey. Electric ranges suck! I had one recently try to kill me by starting an electric fire. I still haven't figured out how that one started. Gas ovens ovens are real nice, except when the blow fireballs in your face when you open it.

I prefer an electric oven. Sometimes, The moisture in the natural gas causes problems when baking.
