Well I went ahead and stained the handle of my Kohetsu, I think it turned out pretty well. Let me know what you guys think.

I like the depth it adds by bringing out the grain. It definitely adds some character to the knife, and that's always a good thing! ;)

I am glad you guys like it, it was super easy and fun. I felt like I was a blacksmith or a handle maker or that crazy guy who is always sharpening his knives. :lol:

Wood is wood! Buy some pine one by two if you need to practice. You can always stain a scrap piece from the handle to see what you will be getting into.
