Caught the gf cutting chicken breasts with a steak knife while the chicken was cooking in my All Clad pan. I almost blew a gasket. Now I have a dull knife and a jacked up pan. I'm trying to maintain my composure and explain why one would not do this but I feel as if it doesn't even need explanation.

And she still wonders why I will not let her touch my "real" knives.

LOL. Nice one. I figured it was going to be something like this. It just means you need to spend more time with her in the kitchen and show her the ways of the blade.

If she's cooking you food you let her do whatever the hell she wants and thank her everyday for putting up with you. This the my formula for keeping my wife for 25 years. :)

All clad is pretty thick...although a bit over hyped and priced. You can probably buff out the scratches with a buffingn wheel sander and some light grits.

But I doubt she could have put too many deep gouges in the pan. It was a steak knife...who cares. Maybe dump her when you can find a woman who will cook and sharpen for you.

There is a certain amount of patience involved in keeping ones significant other happy while keeping ones sanity. Its a tough road.

A certain amount of sanity must be sacrificed.

You didn't mention how the meal turned out. Can she actually cook?

If you dump her over that, you may be doing her a favor.
