Hi MadRookie, thanks for sharing the information and your experience :D .

I did some search and I was confused because it seems the SLD is also called SKD11. With lower carbon content, the SKD Kono used in Tsuchime series probably is SKD12. To add more confusion, Hitachi has another steel called SLD-Magic, which they claim is better than SKD11. (http://www.hitachimetals.com/product/specialtysteel/toolsteel/doc/SLD-Magic.pdf)
