My knives get stuck in my maple board while chopping from time to time....I can't imagine what would happen in walnut.

Wouldn't it be worse with cherry then?

The softer the wood the more likely for this to happen, no?

That's pretty sexy.

Is this a random image or you know or own this exact board?

I have this board! Love it! I think the one in the pics is the exact one I have; I had Jon add the juice groove and feet to it for me. Works great, looks nice with the maple border! I love the walnut look and picked up a smaller 12x12 in all walnut and 2 small 8x8 from him as well, one in cherry and one in Walnut. My mom has the cherry one and my brother has the walnut.

I have had good luck with a reasonably priced 16"x16"x2 1/2" end grain cherry board made by C.K. Adams in Dorset Vermont. It is their " Cherry Chunk " model. They make custom larger sizes also. The cherry looks real nice and it is easy on the blade edge

The Maple Magnum- excellent choice. I have a Maple Carolina Slab and its excellent. Would have gone for the Magnum if i had the room.
