Hi All,

I've been looking all over the internet for the model of knife shown in the picture below. As you can see from the image there's a chip. I would like to replace this knife if possible.

I'm not seeing anything like that knife either after going through a few Google searches. Any Kikuichi santokus with western handles I find are full tang and have bolsters while yours is obviously bolsterless with a half tang.

If it is an older knife maybe it was replaced by a newer model... maybe not but just mentioning it as a possibility.

Does the replacement need to be the exact same knife, or do you just want a santoku with the same quality and performance?

I've been googling too. Thanks for your help! I'm looking for a santoku with the same quality and performance. It may be the case that the above knife is discontinued.

A few questions if you please:

1. Can you tell us the blade length? Estimate from tip to (missing) heel.

2. Is Wa handle OK or Western only?

3. Are you open to carbon steel, or stainless clad w/steel core, or stainless only?

4. What's your price range?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

1. It's 5.5 inches
2. Any handle is okay.
3. I am only to any type of steel. I would like it to be of comparable quality as the old knife.
4. 100-160.

Hello Mark,

It is hard to judge the length of the blade from the picture, but it is most likely WGAN 14-05-5 or WGAN17-6-5
Both are discontinued items. We will be able to fix that damage. Tell you customer to send us the knife with a check of $15.00 for return shipment.
We will not charge repair cost at all.

We will not replace with brand new knife with the damage like one on the picture because it is repairable.

Once again Mark shows us why he is the man! lol ;)

You'll lose a few mm in blade height, but I think it's totally worth the $15 to get them to fix it, especially if you like the knife.

Plus, you could still buy another knife (you were ready to anyway) and have two nice knives! lol :P

That's my personal way of thinking anyway... and I often wonder why I have no money... lol
