Thanks for the suggestion, MadRookie.

Actually, I had thought of that and tired it without success. I tried again this morning after receiving your post and fond that the cursor arrow will change to a pointing finger in two spots in that general area, each of which has a label. One says "report this post," the other, which I used for this post, says "reply with quote." However, even though I scrolled all over my last couple of posts in this thread, I could not find an "edit" button.

It may be that there's a time limit for editing -- I'll check after posting this reply.

EDIT: Success! Immediately after initially posting this reply, the invisible "reply with quote" button changed to an invisible "edit" button. BUT, I still can't edit older posts!

Perhaps these facts will help the IT guys figure this out.

The Edit button, as well as the other buttons are there on the top right - see my picture - they are just not visible for some or other reason.

Just hover your cursor in the vicinity of the RED elipse and you will get the Edit option, or any of the other buttons.

Mine works like this as well.

I believe that like most other site software, there is a time limit available in which you can edit your post - thereafter it's tickets.

:)

True on many sites, but others have no time limit. I prefer the latter.

Agreed, it is a personal preference - some like Ford, others like Toyota - you decide which one you wanna ride - best of luck, and rest assured that we will do our utmost to provide a happy medium to all forumites here - please feel free to hassle us if anything bothers you or if you come up with any other improvement suggestions.

Stay cool.

Rookie.

:)

There is a time limit for editing posts.

The reason your buttons aren't visible could be that your browser needs updating. ?? maybe? :?:

Not it. Running Firefox 13.0.1. Also tried with Internet Explorer 9.0.8112 64-bit -- same problem.

I don't have this problem on any other bulletin board, but this is on only one I frequent that uses this particular software. And apparently I'm not the only one whose computer doesn't display the edit button and others.

FWIW, this problem does not exist on a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion Version 10.7.4 and Safari Version 5.1.7.
