Review:The Arashiyama takes a moderate amount of time to soak. It cuts very quickly for how high the polish is that it leaves. It tends to stick to the DMT XXC pretty badly when flattening. Great stone overall.

I agree. Bought 6000 in Japan, where it was recommended by a shop keeper with a big selection, and I'm also quite happy about its quickness and polish. I paid the same as Mark's current sale price, although mine also has a wood base (which I don't need, anyway). Nagura incl.
