I bought my Hiromoto gyuto 240mm in sometime in June 2013, haven't used it until 1 week ago.

When I tried to sharpen the knife, I realized something, that it is a left handed knife.

There was absolutely no discription on the webpage that it is a left handed knife, and I am sure that I got this knife by accident.

I am extremely frustrated that I had to figure it out this way.

I know that it is your policy of not accepting used knife and knife that was sold more than 30 days ago, but this situation is no fault of my own.

I have been hearing good things and the reputation of your website and your company, but I feel as if I was cheated.

Therefore, I demand a full refund on the knife $164.95.

The model I have purchased is http://www.chefknivestogo.com/higykn24.html.

I hope that I can hear back from you as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hiromotos are actually all neutral and can be used by right and left handed users. The blade is neutral ground on both sides. The handle is also neutral. There is a tiny microbevel on the knife and often that is slightly asymmetrical based on whatever side the factory sharpener did last but it's of no concern. Once you sharpen the knife you can quickly and easily even out the bevel with just a few passes.

And why can't the dude just explain his situation and wait for a response without rudely making demands.

JEFF <> You can't fix stupid. As you so keenly quipped, "it is what it is..." ;)

You should recommend a full set of left handed stones.

I would like to know what's exactly the OP's problem. I got the impression Hiromoto has profoundly changed it's geometry recently, and they come nowadays much thinner behind the edge and much less steering than before. A customer should try to get used to a new geometry and fine tune his technique -- if any -- or adapt the blade to its own wishes. But a left-handed one is so easily recognizable that I find it hard to give a serious response,
