When your friend comes into your house and says: "If I ever broke in here, I'd turn right back around."

I always thought Sakai was such a dick when he would peel an apple that way.

You yell at your mom, snatch a Tojiro ITK petty from her hands, and hand her a butter knife saying something tactful like: "this is more appropriate to what you are doing"

[You know you're a knife nut when...] you look at the reflection on the reach-in, and all you see is Suminagashi. :P

you occasionally find yourself giggling while doing cut work, and you look up to see expressions of serious concern.

When people enter your kitchen and see your knife rack and the first words out of their mouth is "HOLY SHIT!"

Not pertaining to kitchen knives, but...

When someone asks if they can borrow your pocketknife and you have 5 or more on your person to choose from...

I seriously ask them what they need to do with it and make a choice on which to lend depending on the answer. lol

Pertaining to kitchen knives...

I often don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see the state of someone else's knives, but I try to resist doing either... I failed very badly after someone showed me their "awesome sharpener" though. It was a promotional thing that was essentially two silver steel washers loosely screwed on to a plastic handle with some company logo. I couldn't breathe I laughed so hard. My wife actually apologized for me as she took the sharpener from my hand and gave it back while explaining that I am a "knife guy". I still feel kinda bad for that one. lol I also try to be polite and not comment when someone tells me to be careful because some knife they have is sharp, even though you can see your reflection on the BOTTOM of the edge... I have seriously had that happen as well.
