My following reiteration is to ensure, regardless of Shaun's corroboration, that my words voiced from personal experience are heard.

I am a pragmatist by nature, and I have but one concern with my tools... ultimate function. "A developed patina serves a purpose beyond aesthestics; it minimizes food reactivity."

It's like the difference between a house that's like a museum, where you're afraid to touch or sit on anything, and a home that's cozy and warm.

Bob, my comment wasn't aimed at you. My Fujiyama was $400 as well. I was just referring to anyone in particular...

I am as well. However, I prefer water to minimize reactivity...

Function over form, but a nice form is nice, too. I went to engineering school, and appreciate "functional aesthetics." The Fujiyama is beautiful and oh so functional. The Masakage has that "I mean business" beauty of form, kinda like an A-10 coming around for another gun run, or an Apache popping up over the horizon.

No offense taken - to each their own. I would love to have to debate the question, "Do I drive my Ferrari Enzo or park it in a garage to keep it from getting dirty or wet?"

If I had a Ferrari Enzo....I'd drive the shit out of it.

Then again, I say that knowing I'll NEVER own a Ferrari Enzo.

When I had a real Kramer....I NEVER used it.
