The listing info on World Knives says it's made from Sandvik 13c26. Looks very nice indeed. ;)

Ill buy another if this breaks. I know were mostly Japanese on here and rightfully so and if I am not
Mistaken the shape of a true Japanese knife resembles the sabatier. So I guess the French started it any the Japanese took it to a higher level but this knife I feel is a different breed all together made by hand in a small shop with tight tolerances and pride which shows when you hold one. Is it worth 900 dollars like some custom makers or even the nubatama knifes no is it worth as much as a shun at the same price tag? This knife blows it away and I love shuns. Most don't. I love sabatier's and always will, is this knife better than the Sabatier? Beyond a shadow of a doubt and there pocket knifes are a thing of beauty. I can picture a young man on a grassy hill over looking a lake and pulling out his French pocket knife made by the same company uncorking a bottle of wine with the attached corkscrew and have a conversation that could lead to just a lovely afternoon or a long long nite of (you can figure this part out) than I have made one of the best buys of my life. Now I have to afford the pocket knife/wine opener and I will never be able to buy the steak knife set in rainbow colors. But I can dream. And I think I am off to a good start with my collection of sabatier's and now starting a Chambriard collection. My wife saw that knife which was wrapped in butcher paper a sleeve and bubble wrap and the look in my eye as I ever so gently broke out my best stones, I could read her mind: Here we go again! Dam

Dam knife edge literally was sticking to the cutting board. I guess that's sharp enough when it does that!
