Hey, the first Foo Fighters album had some pretty good grunge songs IMO. The next album (Colour and the Shape) started to do with Grunge what Green Day did to Punk, in my opinion.

Sue just doesn't know what she's missing.

This morning I had some Pantera (Great Southern Trendkill) (provides determination to get the job done when in pain) (Sue would leave the office if you played this)

Normally, it's some Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Blackalicious, Millionaire, Eagles of Death Metal, Cypress Hill, Alice in Chains and Foo Fighters as well. :)

Favorite Alice in Chains albums are the Self-titled (3 legged dog), Dirt, and Facelift; But I can only listen to so much of them at a time.

BTW, I use to play a few different instruments, but drums are my favorite. :D

I don't know that I listen to this while sharpening as I rarely sharpen in locations whereas I can listen to anything I'd like to, but I guess I could suggest anything I like: {e.g, Rollins Band, Black Flag, The Misfits, Danzig, Sepultura (&Soulfly), Slayer, Pantera, Primus (&Sausage), Biohazard, Ministry, Metallica, Megadeath, Faith No More (&Mr.Bungle &PeepingTom &Tomahawk &Fantomas &Mondo Cane), White Zombie, Tool, Alice & Chains (&MadSeason), Soundgarden (&TempleOfTheDog), Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Sublime, Stone Temple Pilots, Radiohead (&Thom Yorke), Smashing Pumpkins, Janes Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers <-> Lightning Hopkins, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Thelonius Monk, Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, BB King, Dizzy Gillespie, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Mingus <-> Hendrix, Sabbath, Zeppelin, CCR, The Doors, Floyd, The Beatles <-> Berlioz, Schubert, Shostakovich, Brahms, Stravinsky, Dvorak, Mahler, Tchaikovsky... to name a few}

Mark, I'm down like China Town!

Melampus, we literally have almost the exact same taste in music, that's hilarious.

You listed Sepultura and Soulfly, I have the Soulfly tat on my back actually. Only really loved the first album, although they did put out other good stuff, it was that whole "Roots" era that I loved. Chaos AD, tanks on the streets.... oh yeah baby. :mrgreen:

Old Megadeth... yes sir. Rust in Peace, on of the best old metal albums of all time IMO, and Marty Friedman is literally one of the best all-time guitar players, really. ;)

and now I'm listening to Holy Wars (first song on Rust in Peace). Hell yes.

2 other bands I've been blasting are Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins.

All this stuff kind of slid by me a decade ago.

MARK <> I'll let the Pumpkins slide, but Radiohead has put out 3 albums in the last decade... the last only 2 years ago. I don't know how they slid by. ;) :P :lol:

If you like The Pumpkins & need more, the singer Billy Corgan did another band named Zwan after he went solo, and the singer of Radiohead, Thom Yorke, put out a good solo album called The Eraser, as well.
