You guys have any other makers or brands that you would like me to pick up? Please feel free to suggest them here and I'll hunt them down. I'm really pushing to expand our Japanese small makers but if you have some suggestions about other blacksmiths anywhere in the world that would compliment our offerings I'm happy to check them out.

Almost all of our site now is filled with product suggestions that you guys told me to get so I rely on you to be my eyes and ears for cool new items.

Thanks!

Yoshohiro knives. They have a similar story to Moritaka in that they were a previous sword craftsman, but due to changes in time they have been devoted to knife making. They have been around for hundreds of years and offer knives in any price range and many varieties, from Damascus vg-10, white 1 and 2, blue 1 and 2, AS. They have there own website, but I've also found them on amazon. Check out some of there highly priced knives 1-3k range and you can see the level of craftsmanship. Would love to see you carry some of these.

How hard would it be to make a (small) jump into Japanese woodworking tools? I buy a couple of Japanese chisels/gouges/carving tools a year and I am considering to expand. I get most of these tools from Japan Woodworker, but I'd love to ditch them.

cheers,

I'm not knowledgeable enough to suggest any makers or brands, but, speaking solely for myself, would love to see some moderately priced Usubas, specifically the Kamagata variety.

Looking forward to ordering your new Artifex 210 blue #2 gyuto. I hope they will be available with a Wa-Japanese style octagonal handle. The picture on the website shows it with a western handle. Is the ETA for shipping looking like this August?

A few ideas:

+1 Tanaka R2 Wa-handle

Ashi Hamono ginga series- lasers with French style profile (240mm gyuto white steel under 140 grams)

Ikkanshi Tadatsuna - Former sword smiths, long of history, 270mm laser gyuto is amazingly thin (2mm at heel on mine)

Yoshihiro - No experience with this one, but reported as excellent f&f and ootb sharpness for low cost j-knives

Akifusa (wa-handle) - I think this one is well known enough to speak for itself
