The jump from the 150 Bamboo to a 1k Nubatama is fususaaly fine although a 400 Bamboo intermediary is useful for more abrasion resistant steels.

The nice thing about the 150 Bamboo is that it's real aggressive, but doesn't leave a super rough finish, so going on to a 1k is quite reasonable.

I'd also add the 150 Bamboo to the Shapton and Chocera stone series if that's your preference as they don't have a real strong very low end stone. The low dish rate for this very coarse stone is a real plus compared to other sub 400 grit alternatives.
