Here are the first four of an 8 piece set. Spalted maple burl we collected and had stabilized and copper furniture. The burl was also riddled by ambrosia beetles and has characteristic ambrosia maple spalting. The tree it came from was a damaged yard tree slated for chipping!
Also, what do you think about this gyuto? It's about 255mm with a very flat profile. Flat ground symmetrically and very thin behind the edge though it's a stout knife. Balance 1cm or so in front of the bolsters for a comfortable pinch. Fully rounded spine and eased choil. Stabilized zebrawood and copper.

If you need me to try this set out for you to check their durability over the next several years I would be more than happy to help out. I will report back to you in 2020 to let you know how things are going.
