Which magnifying system (jeweler's loop, pocket microscope, USB magnifying camera, etc.) do people like to use for inspecting their edges ?

Jeweler's loupe for me. I found the pocket microscope to be a cheap toy. I might invest in a USB microscope someday. The prices are reasonable.

Cheers,

Rick

Just got one in the mail today, and I feel the same way.

I wouldn't go beyond an 8-10x magnification. Much higher you lose a lot of field of vision, luminosity and depth of field.
By the way, a standard SLR lens makes an excellent loupe. Use the front lens as an ocular.

Go big once - get an electron microscope - the Veho works magic!

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't used the Veho.

Electron and electronic microscopes are [ahem] somewhat different animals. The Veho is electronic.

Just sayin'

Different by a thousand orders of magnitude, I'd say.
