I don't surf fish usually, but do fish from a boat in the Long Island Sound or farther Offshore.

Nice Albacore or Longfin Tuna I caught last Spring:

One of my buddies with a BIG BlueFin Tuna (73+") in Cape Cod, 1 week after they closed the Trophy season down, so they had to release the tuna. I built him the rod he caught it on:

Thresher Shark caught on one of my rods I let my Uncle use in a Tournament:

Nice YellowFin a friend caught on a trip a few years ago:

Stripers and Fresh Lobsters from the LIS:

White Marlin caught on the first Tuna rod I built. They got the pic, then swam the Marlin for a while to let it recover and then released:

Video of the Marlin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHGH_xf_bzs

Last but not least, heartbreak video!! I fought a HUGE Swordfish for around 85 min before the line caught on some running gear under the boat and snapped. One of the guys in the boat got a good look at it and thinks it was in the 400# or more range, around 12+ feet long. I got to see the tail on it when it was still a good distance under the boat and the tail was over 2' across!

Yeah, my rods get out fishing more than I do :(

I live right on Chesapeake Bay, but it's a hike to get past the sandbars. Going to buy an Ocean Ultra 4.7m kayak to get outside. MR have you ever investigated the Kaskazi kayaks that are made down your way? Some top notch piece of kit.

Nooooo, catching fish from a floating vessel of any sorts is actually not very difficult to achieve.

...but then again rock & surf angling is a totally different ball game.....

Awesome!!! Those are fun size tuna to break down!! Easier to handle than trying to move around a 150-250# monster!
