First job out of college: Computer consultant.
Hired to do CAD "Computer Aided-Design" work.
I'd been looking for a job for several months. I landed my first job right before I was about to go on a trip with college friends so I was super happy about being able to tell my friends I was in the work force.
First Day: Arrived in my 3-piece suit ready to work.
The Job: They then informed me I was actually supposed to go sell office supplies door-to-door by giving away catalogs
and making sales to businesses.
The Twist: I had to BUY the catalogs. This entry level job paid minimum wage. I calculated that
at the end of each day, if I distributed the expected number of catalogs to prospective clients,
I'd end up owing the company about $25.
Once they revealed their true intentions, I quit.
Went on my trip, still unemployed.
