What do you call that fire box in the wall? I love that!
My cooking den looks like a closet with a stove in it.

That "fire box" is basically an indoor fireplace built from clay bricks designed to withstand high temperature open wood fires, it has a chimney to exhaust the smoke - it is really a standard feature in most SA homes - can be used through all seasons as it's indoors.

You are definitely on my bucket list of people to meet Rook, before it was just to come and see your knives and talk about sharpening them, but you are quite a cook. One of the things the pictures here don't tell us are how good your place must smell when you are doing what you enjoy so much. Love the pictures, please keep them coming.

Respectfully
Peter
