Yes they will. They will also make the jump to a higher grit compound more effective. Going form a 5k edge to a 64k edge (half micron strop) is a big (>12x) jump and will only give a marginal improvement vs putting an intervening stone in the mix.

The Yaginoshima Asagi is on it's way - with Tomonagura. You got the last one for a while :(

I'd probably go for the 10k of the two - and strop afterwards - probably with the .75 CBN - equivalent to a 24k stone grit wise. An excellent grit to refresh an edge too.
