I'd consider the 3k Bamboo or the more affordable natural Meara stone and then jump from there to your natural polishing stone for instance a Yaginoshima asagi. Don't expect a shiny finish from either the 3k or your natural stones but rather a hazy finish on cladding or soft steel and a shiny finish on the core steel (hagane) with a hint of black haze - a kurobakiri finish.

If you want a bright finish with no contrast, consider not using natural stones and going with Shaptons for a bright finish.
