Yeah, it's solid M390 all the way thru. No cladding, no welding on tang material.

Nope, the heat will go into the blade since it snapped pretty much right at the choil. I'm not sure if the heat blocking pastes will be enough to prevent the heat from creeping. It may ruin the temper in some areas which can lead to a weakness the blade.
