Mark,

I would like to give the Shapton Glass Stones a try? Do you offer a package deal like you do with the Chosera Stones?

Also wondering about going with the lower grit Shapton Glass stones versus going with the Atoma Diamonds. I am mainly sharpening aogami super, S30v, AEB-L, VG10, some H2, and Busse knives in infi.

Troy

Hi Troy,

I'm just guessing you're asking about the edge pro version of these stones. I'm sorry but we don't offer discounted sets. The reason is to make this happen we had to buy a lot of stones and I wanted to give people a good everyday price on them so we just don't have the margins to do put together sets at a discount. They're good stones so I hope you give them a try.

I must agree with Mark here. The pricing is great as it is. Remember Mark is the first and only one who has these stones and we've been asking Shapton for AGES to make this real. Mark finally got them and the pricing is as low as it's possible at this moment.

The diamond plates are great for re profiling. If you need to do a bunch, the diamonds will extend the life of your stones. The coarser Shaptons are good for refining the scratch pattern from the diamond plates before moving to finer stones, but they certainly work for reprofiling knives. I love the 1 k glass, and and use the 6k often to finish as well. If you want to go higher, I got the 16 k glass from Mark, really nice feedback for such a fine hard stone. The glass stones wear very slowly compared to other stones I've used, they'll last a long time. Great value
