I'm taking my first trip to Japan. I haven't booked the trip yet but I'm shooting for mid May. I'm psyched to meet some of the suppliers I've never met in person, check out some sights and meet some of the great blacksmiths we deal with in their workshops. Hoping to beg some of them to let me make some knives. :)

I only have about a week. I plan to focus much of the trip in Sakai since I have so many contacts there but I hope to take a trip out to Kyoto to meet Mr. Imanishi as well as squeeze in a trip out to meet Shosui Takeda at his shop. I'll update this thread as things take shape and of course I'm going to take as many pictures and videos as I can without being rude.

I'm super excited about this!!!! :)

I could really spend the entire week in Sakai. I have relationships with Takayuki, Suisin, Konosuke and Kikuichi. All of them use multiple blacksmiths and grinders. Naniwa is also close by.
