Thanks!

I use old bathroom towels. I wipe knives with tissues or toilet paper.

K...so there isn't a "best" type of material or anything like that? Was looking for something absorbent and also something that wouldn't fray or tear up as things are wiped, but still wasn't too thick.

Fine microfibre? Just tea-towels?

I use microfiber and standard cotton towels. Microfibers work very well to clean a blade of dirt and debris while keeping any scratching to a minimal.

I used soft cotton cloth. One for sharpening and one for working.

Before I store my knife, I dry them with e cloth for glass and polish.

Microfiber polishing cloth - I get mine from Costco (yellow). Advantage is that it gets the knife REALLY dry. Not only does this give you a dryer knife, but it makes it much more accurate to assess sharpness. Drying your hands and the knife gives you a MUCH more accurate and useful sense of blade sharpness.

Even drying off stones lets you get the stone ready for storage more quickly rather than letting the surface water soak in more after use which prolongs drying times.
