Hi there

So I've read some nice things about the Takeda Nakiri. I also have a few Asai knives in Aogami and really like them.
One of the comments on the page for this knife mentions that there is a hammer finish, but that is not visible in the photo. I do like a hammer finish, and so I am trying to find out if the Takeda does, in fact, have some "dimples" or a hammer "Tsuchimi" finish, or if it's an option.
Can you let me know a little more about that?

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Mike,

No they don't have a hammered finish in the way your Asia knives have. Their knives have that hammered pattern for aesthetic reasons. Takeda does hammer his knives out and he does not polish those marks completely out but it's for utility of his work not aesthetics. His knives do look really cool but in a different way. I encourage you to try one. His knives perform really well.
